Bear River Reservoir

So last weekend we had planned to get started on our burn pile. Unfortunately, it was a no burn day...so we decided to take the kids to Bear River Reservoir. Bear River is around 6000 ft. in elevation, which is important to know because at this time of the year it should be really cold and possibly even have snow on the ground. So I packed our warm coats and a picnic lunch and off we went. On the way up there, the car showed the temperature between 65 - 70 degrees...which is unseasonably warm!!
Here are some pics of our day:

Peter and the kids on the dam; Bear River in the background. Beautiful, huh!?

Georgia sitting in the spillway, it was empty obviously.

Yes, the water was freezing, but that didn't stop the kiddos from putting their toes in. As you can see, Georgia would only put her toes in, but we couldn't keep Warren out of the water. Eventually we took all of his clothes off because they would have been soaked otherwise.
